The rudder pedals assembled as per instructions and with standard parts resulted in lots of friction. To the point where a master cylinder spring would not be strong enough to return the pedal to its neutral position. So the assembly was taken apart.
One of the reasons for the unacceptable friction were several high points on the weldments below the powder coat. So these were filed level with the remaining lid.
Probably every second lid required that treatment.
And then assembled again, lubing all joints with grease.
Also in some cases even an AN960-10L washer on each side would be too thick. So Dominik came up with these 0.5mm steel washers, drilled out to bolt size on his lathe. Thanks a lot! Now we have brake pedals that will not brake unless a foot steps on it.
